Basic Brown Tights
Brown has traditionally never been the most popular colour that shoppers go for when choosing tights. Black, blue, and even white are the typical popular choices of colours that most shoppers turn to when buying new tights. Many shoppers reject brown tights because they are seen as inferior to the more conventional and popular black tights. However, brown tights are usually the more creative and unusual choice. They also look more brilliant than the more conventional colours when paired with brown or chocolate skirts, dresses and jumpers.
As a colour, brown is slightly less harsh than opaque black. Brown is also a warmer colour than say white. Brown tights are a fantastic compromise between the desire to be original and wanting to fit in They are different enough to demonstrate your creativity, originality, and style, but are conservative enough to ensure that the wearer is following the appropriate fashion conventions.
Brown tights are not bright, so they do not draw attention away from the outfit they are worn with. As a result the entire focus remains on what matters, your outfit. Unlike brighter colour tights, such as red, pink, yellow, and even white, they do not make an overly-bold statement. While it is true that they make a statement, they are more subtle and tasteful.
Chocolate and brown tights tend to be more interesting and more unique than the standard black tights. Remember, however, that there is not one standard shade of brown. The colour tends to look lighter or darker depending upon the material they are made of; for example, they may typically change the effect and impact of an outfit, depending upon the type of material they are made of and if they are opaque or sheer. Another advantage to choosing brown tights is that they can give off the appearance of slimming down your legs.
With the above in mind brown is a great shade for tights. They hint at originality, but are still appropriate for formal situations like meetings or job interviews. They are able to make a subtle but powerful change to an outfit and update the style of impact of clothes that have become tired or boring. They can and will provide a welcome boost to your winter wardrobe!
